The joy that teaching brings me…

Today I spent the morning playing cake and fondant with some lovely ladies. I still get little butterflies before I teach a class. I wonder if this will ever go? I enjoy teaching so much, I would love to do more. I love talking cake and all things decorating. Today’s course was Springtime Funtime. It’s all about making pretty bugs and insects using fondant! And of course learning some cool piping techniques, such as the “poo” swirl (my kids named it that sorry :-0), the rose swirl, the ruffle, the ocean, and the popular grass one! I love teaching people who’ve sometimes never piped or even touched fondant and then watching them walk out with their amazing set of cupcakes. Truly rewarding. It’s funny, how students come in saying “oh I can’t” or “I’m not sure I can”, but they can. It’s so easy, really, it’s all about practicing and playing. If you don’t succeed try and try again ;-) Failure is my way of learning! I took some pics from today’s course, you’ll have to excuse the quality I took them on my phone.
Happy caking.
